Superoots Air Pots — For Dense, Healthy Root Systems
Superoots Air Pots are engineered to maximise air pruning, delivering superior root growth and overall plant performance. The durable plastic structure directs roots towards the air, which then stimulates new root formation, increasing overall root density and enhancing nutrient uptake.
- Air prunes roots to prevent root circling
- Creates extremely dense root systems that fill the entire container
- Maximises aeration via sidewall exposure
- Available in sizes to suit any grow space
- Choose from 1 litre, 3 litre, 5 litre, 9 litre, 12.5 litre, 20 litre and 38 litre capacities
- Accelerates root development
- Manufactured using recycled HDPE
- Supplied flat packed

What is Root Pruning?
Air pruning, otherwise known as root pruning, is a horticultural technique that makes root growth much, much more efficient. As plant roots reach the sides of the containers, they get exposed to the outside air. This exposure causes the root tips to dry out and stop growing, stimulating the plant to grow more roots out from the centre, creating incredibly dense root systems that fill up the entire containers.
This process enhances plants' ability to absorb water and nutrients, leading to healthier, more vigorous growth.
What Growing Medium Should I Use with Superoots Air Pots?
Air Pots are highly versatile; they will deliver excellent results in almost any growing medium. Soil works extremely well, regardless of whether you're growing organically or with mineral based fertilisers. Coco is the most popular choice, especially mixes like 60/40 (clay pebbles / coco) and 70/30 (coco / perlite).
With regular watering in an active grow system, you can pot up with a pure hydro medium, like clay pebbles.
Superoots Growing Tips
The high levels of aeration make Superoots Air Pots very difficult to over-water. The bases can also be fitted higher up, if needs be. This keeps the root-zone elevated above any run-off, helping to prevent root disease.
The flip-side of this aeration is that plants will generally need watering more often than they would with a regular plant pot. Be mindful of this and don't let plants dry out too much, especially during the peak of the bloom phase.
