1 Simple Change Soil and Coco Growers Should Make!
Small changes can lead to big results. Soil or coco grower? Here’s 1 change you should make…
…add Ecothrive Charge to your feeding regime!
It’s been making waves since it was first launched. It’s a great all-rounder and is 100% organic, too.
The Proof’s in the Pudding…
David takes home three 1st place prizes for his huge blanched leeks. David added Ecothrive Charge to his potting compost…just look at how his plants responded.
Gareth Cameron, winning first prize for his collection of five perfect 3lb onions. Despite being up against the elements, Gareth grew some prize-winning veggies. Only one off-the-shelf product was used – Ecothrive Charge
Barbara Cook of Knottingley, West Yorkshire wins 3rd prize for her 13lb 10 ½ oz onion! Barbara had some problems with her soil. After almost giving up on exhibition growing, she added Ecothrive Charge to her potting soil and grabbed 3rd Prize.
What is it?
Insect Frass. That’s insect faeces to you and me.
Specifically, it comes from the larvae of Tenebrio molitor beetles (aka mealworms).
Don’t worry – a number of tests are carried out to ensure each pot of Ecothrive charge contains no actual insects.
It’s Soil Association Approved, so can be used if you’re growing organically.
Why’s it so good?
1. It’s packed with friendly bacteria
To be exact, 450 million colony forming units of beneficial rhizosphere bacteria per gram.
Really – it’s been lab tested. All of this bacteria:
- Helps your plants take up nutrients from the soil
- Markedly improves the general root zone
2. It contains chitin derivatives
Chitin is a modified polysaccharide found in large concentrations in the cell walls of insects.
Once plants detect chitin, they’re ‘tricked’ into thinking an attack is coming.
As a result, growth rates, productivity and their immune response are all boosted significantly.
3. It’s been certified as 100% organic
Ecothrive Charge has been fully approved by the Soil Association (not an easy certificate to earn!).
4. Growers report little to no transplant shock
That’s during propagation and potting on. Healthier plants demonstrate a faster growth rate, reduced vegetative time due to improved establishment and increased yields!
5. It’s easy to use and fast-acting
You’ll find Ecothrive Charge easy to use, thanks to its sandy texture.
You'll see results after just a few weeks. Try running a side by side trial – you’ll see a dramatic difference at all stages of growth.
6. It shouldn’t interfere with a typical feeding schedule
The nutrients in Ecothrive Charge are mild and there's a good balance of primary nutrients (NPK 3.2.3)
All nutrients are released slowly over a period of 3 - 4 weeks. This means that they do not interfere with a typical moderate feeding schedule.
How do you use it?
Each dose of Ecothrive Charge lasts for 3-4 weeks
First dosage:
Mix it with soil or coco (1L of Ecothrive Charge to 50-100L of growing media)
If your soil has a high nutrient content (like BioBizz All Mix), mix 1L of Ecothrive Charge with 100L of soil.
For a lightly fertilised soil or coco (like BioBizz Light Mix, Canna Coco Professional Plus and Gold Label 60/40), mix 1L of Ecothrive Charge with 50L of soil or coco. Once mixed into the soil or coco, treat the plants as you normally would.
Top dressings:
Mix Ecothrive Charge into the media before use, then apply top dressings every 3 – 4 weeks.
We recommend applying two top up dressings:
- One at the first day of a 12/12 cycle (beginning of the flowering cycle)
- The other at 4 weeks into the flowering cycle
Manufacturer recommends:
Adding 20-40ML for a 10L pot, opting for the higher amount if your plants like a heavy feed.
