Here you'll learn how to get your coverage right.
Coverage areas
The exact area depends on the footprint of your reflector. But as a rough rule, to get your intensity right, here's how much space you should aim to cover with each lamp:
Coverage | |
250W lamp | 0.75m x 0.75m area |
400W lamp | 1m x 1m area |
600W Lamp | 1.2m x 1.2m area |
750W Lamp | 1.3m x 1.3m area |
1000W Lamp | 1.5m x 1.5m area |
So, a 600W lamp, with a square reflector, in a BAY6 XL tent is spot on.
This doesn't mean you need a higher intensity lamp in a bigger tent, you just need to use multiples.
For instance, in a 1.2m x 2.4m tent, you know 2 x 600W lights would do it.
Don't forget, your exact coverage area depends on:
- the shape of your reflector
- the height of your reflector
