Vitopod — The Best Heated Propagator Available
To root, establish & harden off cuttings and seedlings in a warm, humid climate. All you need is an award-winning Vitopod Heated Propagator!
It was named the 'Best Buy Propagator' by BBC Gardeners’ World, and the Vitopod is generally regarded as the best heated propagator available. There are also unheated versions if you are looking for a basic option.
They’re like mini greenhouses! Some people even grow tropical plants in them during winter!
The height level is extendable! You can add extra layers (without floors) to make space for bigger plants. Each layer is 15cm tall.
There are no hot or cold spots — heat is distributed evenly for uniform growth.
You set your temperature (5 - 30oC) with the easy-to use digital controller. The super accurate thermostat will then keep you within 1oC of your target!
You can control moisture levels too (via 3 large vents) so there’s no damping off. Open vents gradually to harden plants off before transplanting!
- The UK's favourite propagator — perfect for seed sowing and taking cuttings
- Multipurpose — root, harden off & establish plants

What is the Vitopod Propagator Used For?
Propagators create a controlled environment for cuttings and seedlings. They maintain consistent humidity and temperature levels, which is crucial for the most delicate stages of plant development, as cuttings and seedlings are more sensitive to changes.
At this stage, young plants have limited (if any) root systems and rely heavily on moisture from the air to maintain hydration. High environmental moisture reduces water loss through transpiration, allowing young plants to focus energy on root development.
What Makes Vitopod Propagators So Much Better than Other Propagators?
Vitopod propagators are extremely tough and robust, and built to a much higher spec than any other propagator. They utilise UV-resistant acrylic, ensuring durability and longevity without yellowing or degradation over time.
The precision temperature control system on the heated models is accurate to within 1°C, ensuring optimal conditions for a wide range of plants, while enhancing germination and growth rates.
Another standout feature is the adjustable height design, which can be modified with single, double, or triple extensions. Just add an extra layer to your basket and you'll be able to slot it in place to increase the height as your plants develop, allowing you to adapt the propagator to different stages of plant growth.
The Vitopod also excels in humidity control. Other propagators tend to have a single vent located on the lid, but Vitopods come with three large, easily adjustable vents that allow air to circulate large through the propagator, reducing the risk of mould and disease while maintaining the ideal microclimate.

which is better to use for growing cuttings heated or unheated propagators Thanks
Most people do not have a requirement for a heated propagator due to the ambient temperatures of their growing environment. However, if you are growing in a particularly cold place then a heated prop might be right for you. Ideal propagation temperatures are between 21oC - 26oC.
